    Top 10 Peak Climbing Peaks in Nepal

     

    Peak climbing expedition is usually both technically and physically very challenging activity for climbing and mountaineering in Nepal.
    In Nepal, more than 6000m having 1310 Himalayan peaks including 8 out of 14 highest peaks in the world located in Nepal, identified by Nepal Government. In near future, more mountains will identified by Tourism Board of Nepal. This mountain makes Nepal become the famous for mountaineering and climbing destination, every years thousands of climbers and mountaineers fulfill their desire and test their skills in Himalaya in Nepal. Currently, Nepal Government opens 414 peaks for climbing and expedition or mountaineering activities, adding 104 peaks in 2014 by Government of Nepal. 

    Peak Climbing expedition is usually technically and physically challenging activity. It requires the climbing skill while climbing mountain having less than 8000 meters and having high altitude trekking experience will help to acclimatization is easy and adaption quickly.
    Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has given sole authority by Mountaineering Department of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTA) of issuing peak climbing permits.

    During peak climbing, there are various rule and regulation imposed by Nepal's Government due to economic safety, environmental and cultural concerns. Mountain/ Himalaya is part of natural resource of the country. In Nepal condition, Government issue permit fee is important income for Nepal Government.

    This 10 peak climbing is basically for beginner climbing as well as moderate peak climber who want further enhance their skill. This peak is easy to moderate difficulty, if you have some little knowledge of climbing will helpful in this climbing.

    1. Mera Peak Climbing
    Mera peak (6476m) is one of the highest trekking peak in the world and Nepal's highest trekking peak. Mera peak is located in close to the southeast of Island Peak in Everest Region. Actually, Mera peak is a collection of three separate peaks in Khumbu region i.e. Mera peak north, Mera peak south and Mera peak central. During journey of the Mera peak, we passing through dense rhododendron forests and beautiful villages on the ways you can see the magnificent views of the himalaya in Everest region. From the top of the Mera peak, we can see the three highest peak in the Earth, Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m) and Everest (8848m). The climb is less technical than Island peak. But, ice axes, ropes etc will still be used. It is perfect for beginner climber to climb and we recommended having high altitude trekking experience.

    • Altitude: 6,476 m
    • Difficulty: Little Difficulty, less technical 
    • Number of climbing days: 3
    • Best Season: September, October, November (but March/April/May are also fine months)
    • Accommodation: Lodges and Camping to Mera Peak / Camping during the 3 days climbing
    • Duration: from 16 days and above, pending itinerary

    2. Island Peak / Ijma Tse
    Another trekking peak, Island Peak is situated close east to Everest base camp trekking trail. It is also known as Imja Tse and height is 6189m from sea level. You can do Everest base camp trekking with Island peak in one trip. It is slightly difficult than Mera peak having several technical sections on the way to Island Peak. We also recommended the first time climber to build confidence to climbing. Magnificent view of himalaya.

    • Altitude: 6,189 m
    • Difficulty: Little Difficulty, 
    • Number of climbing days: 1-2 (including Island peak base camp)
    • Best Season: April-May, October-November
    • Accommodation: Guesthouses & Lodges to Island peak or Camping / Camping at Island peak Base Camp
    • Duration: 16 days and above

    3. Lobuche Peak
    Lobuche peak is another great peak lies in Solu Khumbu and Everest Region. From the Lobuche East Peak, you can see the stunning close views of surrounding Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse and Pumori.
    On the way to Lobuche base camp, you will likely pass by the infamous viewpoint Kala Patthar (5,545 m) and Everest base camp (5,363). The climb is moderately challenging but does not require any specialized training or experience. On the other hand, Lobuche West Peak is a difficult expedition peak.

    4. Pisang peak
    Pisang peak is located in Pisang Village in Annapurna Conservation Area, It is also one of the popular trekking peaks in Nepal. It is also known as Jong Ri. This peak is relatively more technical than other trekking peaks. For this peak climbing, you have to need previous mountaineering experience and physically fit.

    5. Chulu Far East Climbing
    Chulu far east located in northern part of Annapurna region which height is 6059m/19874ft. It is first ascending by German Group in 1955. It cross the adventure Mesokanta La pass 5120m. From the top from the summit, mesmerizing view of Annapurna II, III, IV, Manaslu, Pisang peak, Gangapurna and other peaks in this region.

    6. Dhampus Peak 

    Dhampus Peak Climbing located in the Dhaulagiri massif, northeast of Dhaulagiri I. Dhampus peak is also known as Thapa Peak. Its height is 6012m from sea level. This is easy peak for climbing. It offers panorama of more than 30 individual peaks. From the top of Dhampus peak, magnificent views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri and Tukuche.

    7. Yala Peak 

    Yala peak is also a trekking peak listed by NMA(Nepal Mountain association). Situated in Langtang region in Nepal. Yala peak is a non-technical peak which can offer the excellent views of Mt. Shishapangma (8013m)-highest mountain in Tibet and also 14th highest mountain in the world. Its height is 5732m from sea level and other himalayas are Langtang Lirung, Langsisha ri, Gangchepo and Dorche Lakpa.

    8. Pokalde Peak

    One of the easiest trekking peaks in Nepal, Pokalde peak is the best choice to experience with Himalaya of Nepal without having exhaust. It is situated 12 km southwest of Mount Everest. From the top of the Pokalde peak,  you can see the mesmerizing view of Everest Region Himalaya.

    9. Tharpu Chuli Peak 

    Tharpu Chuli peak or Tent Peak is located inside Annapurna Sanctuary region. It is also trekking peak in Nepal and Royalty free peak. You don't make any permit fee to climbing this mountain.  It is technically easy but also challenging peak. From the summit of Tharpu Chuli, magnificent panoramic views of  Annapurna I, Annapurna south, Annapurna III, Annapurna V, Machhapuchhare (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, Singu Chuli and Gangapurna.

    10. Singu Chuli Peak

    Singu Chuli Peak is located in Annapurna Sanctuary region, near Tharpu Chuli Peak. It is also categories as trekking peak in Nepal. It is a difficult and challenging peak to climb. It requires the climbing skills with high altitude trekking experience for this mountain. From the summit of Singu Chuli peak, You can see the magnificent views of  Annapurna (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Fishtail (6993m). During Singu Chuli Peak climbing, we can passes through the many beautiful with different landscapes.
