FLY KATHMANDU – PARO (2200m) – THIMPU (2300m, 2 hrs)

A flight from Kathmandu over the Himalayan range or over the foothills to Paro is the most spectacular mountain flights of all. Each mesmerizing flight offers exiting descent into the Kingdom. On arrival, our representative will receive you and transfer to Thimpu – the morden capital of Bhutan.
If we have time we can also visit Buddha Park and Trichichoe Dzhong at Thimpu.
Day 2

Thimpu is a quiet and peaceful capital which lies in a wooden valley sprawling up a hillside at the west bank of the Thipmu River. The capital is relatively small with wide streets and lined trees having approximately the population of 45000.

The sights at Thimpu certainly includes Late King’s Memorial Chorten, the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved, Drubthob Nunnery, Folk Heritage Museum, the handmade paper factory, the school of arts and crafts where young students learn the traditional arts and crafts (Zo Rig Chusum – the thirteen crafts), Gold and the Silver Smiths workshop, Zangtopelri Lhakhang, and the Handicraft Emporium and the local handicraft centers to see the weavers at work and also varieties of textiles, thangkha paintings, masks and many more.

Finally leave Thimpu in the evening and head towards Paro.

Day 3

oday, we drive north to Paro valley to visit ruins of Drukgyel Dozng and an excursion to Taktsang Monastery. It is a popular fort used by Bhutanese to repel several invasions of Tibetan Armies. It also provides an opportunity to visit nearby traditional Bhutanese Farm House and have good insight into the lifestyle of local people.

Taktsang is the most famous Bhutanese Monastery. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche arrived on the back of the tigress and meditated at this monastery. Therefore, it is also called “Tiger’s Nest”. The round trip excursion of monastery takes almost 5 hours and we return back to Paro town. En route visit the Kyichu Lhakhang which is one of the oldest and most scared shrines of the Kingdom.

If time permits, visit Paro Dzong and Ta Dzong.

Day 4

After an early breakfast we drive to the airport to connect with onward destination to Kathmandu.
