Day 1


We drive early morning to Kodari, the Nepali – China border post. We might have an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful views of Langtang, Gauri Shankar, Melungtse and Khumbu Himal ranging along the route. After border formalities we head towards Nyalam through a gorge and crossing Himalayan range.
Day 2

NYALAM – OLD TINGRI (4200m, 145 KM, 4 HRS)

At the Tibetan plateau we spend our night at Old Tingri (5200 m high). It is the best place for viewing sunset and sunrise over the Himalaya. The beautiful peaks of Mt. Everest (Qomolongma in Tibetan) and Cho Oyu can also be seen. On the way at Lalung la pass we have mesmerizing view of the Himalayan range and Shisabangma, the highest peak in Tibet.
Day 3

TINGRI – SHIGATSE (3900m, 260KM, 4 HRS)

Today, we have different historical and cultural centers to visit. After 4 hours of drive we arrive at Shigatse, second largest city of Tibet. . Here we visit Tashilumpo monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama, second only in importance to the Dalai Lama Its numerous halls contain a 21.6-meter wooden statue of Maitreya, the future Buddha and elaborate, jewel encrusted reliquary chorten.
Day 4


We take 2 hour drive to Gyantse after strolling through the old city. The Kumbum monastery along with its extraordinary architecture is the major attraction here. On the way, near small farming town, we can clearly see the old fort captured by Younghusband during his 1904 raid into Tibet.
Day 5

GYANTSE – LHASA (3658m, 280KM, 8 HRS)

Today, we have a scenic drive to Lhasa. After breakfast, we drive cross the Karo la along with the glacier. On the way we see beautiful Yamdrok tso named as Turquoise Lake. As we cross the Khamba la we descend to the main road leading us to Lhasa.
Day 6


The sightseeing at Lasa will start after a refreshing breakfast. A whole day program will be briefed and an your tour will be guided by experienced guide to Sera Monastery offering an insight to the important aspects of Tibetan Buddhism, Norbulingka and the Barkhor Square. Norbulingka is the summer retreat of the Dalai Lama where you pay a visit. The building was ready in 1956 with richly decorated by Tibetan carvings and paintings. The Tibetan cultural glimpse can also be seen in the Jokhang temple. We can spend some time walking around the busy Barkhor Square and escort back for the hotel.
Day 7


Today, we visit the majestic Potala Palace, the imposing structure, for sightseeing. You will be guided through the structure of Potala Palace which dominates the landscape of Lasha. You can experience best Tibetan art as we continue through the ancient chambers. The palace has the vast array of intricate Tibetan murals and beautiful statues along with the tombs of the eight Dalai Lamas.
Further, you will be guided to visit beautifully landscaped Drepung Monastery and observe nuns and monks chanting mantra and performing religious discourses. Finally, we will escort you back to hotel for pleasant rest.
Note: The sightseeing of the places will be decided as per the order decided by the Guide since only limited numbers of visitors are allowed to visit the Potala Palace.
