Day 1

KATHMANDU – GONGGAR AIRPORT – LHASA (Drive 100Kms (3658m, 2 HRS)

A flight from Kathmandu to Gonggar Airport offers one of the most beautiful flights sightseeing in the world. Therefore, it is pointless trying to express the excitement of experiencing the scenic and beautiful flight to Gonggar Airport (Lhasa). Your Lhasa tour starts from the airport with a warm welcome from our Tibetan Guide and a driver and experience the Tibetan hospitality accompanied by sweet smile. You will, then, be checked into the booked hotel to relax and acclimatize with the high altitude.

Day 2

SIGHTSEEING IN LHASA

The sightseeing at Lasa will start after a refreshing breakfast. A whole day program will be briefed and an your tour will be guided by experienced guide to Sera Monastery offering an insight to the important aspects of Tibetan Buddhism, Norbulingka and the Barkhor Square. Norbulingka is the summer retreat of the Dalai Lama where you pay a visit. The building was ready in 1956 with richly decorated by Tibetan carvings and paintings. The Tibetan cultural glimpse can also be seen in the Jokhang temple. We can spend some time walking around the busy Barkhor Square and escort back for the hotel.
Day 3

SIGHTSEEING IN LHASA

Today, we visit the majestic Potala Palace, the imposing structure, for sightseeing. You will be guided through the structure of Potala Palace which dominates the landscape of Lasha. You can experience best Tibetan art as we continue through the ancient chambers. The palace has the vast array of intricate Tibetan murals and beautiful statues along with the tombs of the eight Dalai Lamas.
Further, you will be guided to visit beautifully landscaped Drepung Monastery and observe nuns and monks chanting mantra and performing religious discourses. Finally, we will escort you back to hotel for pleasant rest.
Note: The sightseeing of the places will be decided as per the order decided by the Guide since only limited numbers of visitors are allowed to visit the Potala Palace.
Day 4

LHASA – SAMYE MONASTERY (3540m) – TSETHANG (3600m, 205KMS, 4 HRS)

Today, we have a trip to Samye Monastery founded by 37th king of Yarlung Dynasty in 8th century. The monastery was builtwith the participation of the famous Indian tantric master Guru Tingpo Che and Kenchen Shiva Tso. The first 7 Tibetan monks had been ordained and translated the Buddhist scriptures from Sanskrit and Pli into Tibetan in the monastery. The structure of the monastery is distinctly unique and fascinating. We have a free excursion to the surrounding village along with the beautiful Hebu ri hill-top is also an option to be for the views of the Yarlung valley and the monastery. Finally, at late afternoon we drive to Tseghang for the night stay (3600m).
Day 5

TSETHANG

We visit a Yarlung valley where the King Songsten Gampo unified central Tibet in the 7th century. Yarlung is also considered as cradle of the Tibetan people. We have fortress-palace of Yambulakhang dramatically situated on hill above the valley founding dating back to a time of myth and legend.
On the way back to Tandruk we can see one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Tibet. It is gaining renovation after being hugely destroyed during Cultural Revolution. Here, the royal kitchen and pearl made Thanka dated back to 7th century is most worthy to be seen. The Yarlung kings, including Songsten Gampo, were buried at Chongye, the tombs showing evidence of the pre-Buddhist Bon religion.
Day 6

TSETHANG – GYANTSE (3950m, 320KMS, 7 HRS)

We continue our trip towards Khampa la pass (4730 meters). At the pass we take a short beak for stunning views of the major white peaks in the eastern regions of Himalaya to the south. Also, the young Nogjing Gang Sang Spiritual snow mountain rang to the west across the turquise colored waving waters of Yamdrok Lake. Further the trail descends close to the lake passing the local nomadic and farming villages to the western edge of Yamdrok lake. We have our lunch at Nagar Tse and continue or scenic drive to Karo la passes (5050meters) and stop for a short view of Norjing Gang Sang Glacier Peak. Late afternoon, we arrive in Gyangtse after a visit with the local nomads and yaks. Check in hotel in Gyangtse (3850 meters) and end our trip for day.
Day 7

TOURING GYANGTSE – SHIGATSE (3900m, 90KMS, 2HRS)

The historical and the cultural centers are the major attraction for the day. Before noon we visit Palkhor Chode monastery including the Kumbum stupa (the only survival with such distinctive structure and the thousands of art works) and the local ancient Gyangse fort.
Then we continue our trip to Shigatse via the rich agricultural Nying Chu valley of central Tibet. On arrival we visit the the Tashilunpo monastery (the main seat of Panchen Lama ) and the local Traditional market.
Day 8

SHIGATSE – SAKYA (4300m) – SHEGAR (4050m, 280KMS, 5HRS)

At Shigatse we have our breakfast and visit Tashilunpo monastery (the main seat of Panchen Lama) and local traditional market. Our trip continues at noon to the south west on the friendship highway and visit Sakya Monastery of Sakya sect. The monastery still has a big collection of sutra books. Sakya was once a political and religious center of Tibet. Finally, we advance to Shegar and take rest at hotel.
Day 9

SHEGAR – EVEREST BASE CAMP (5200m) – ROMBUK(5000m) (80 KMS, 8 HRS)

Turn off the Friendship Highway for a stunning drive through Qomolangma National Park to reach the tiny Rhongphu Gompa at 5000m. The view from here is utterly spectacular!
Trek or drive 7 kms to Everest Base Camp (5200m) and return to Rombuk for overnight stay. (hotel stay)
Day 10

ROMBUK – NYALAM (3800m, 205 KMS, 5 HRS)

Make As we continue our trip across the Lalung la pass (5200m) the breath taking panoramic views of the Himalayan range are worth capturing in camera. The Himalayan range also includes Shisabangma, the highest peak in Tibet, Mt. Everest, Cho-Oyu.
Day 11

NYALAM – KATHMANDU (1300m, 135KMS, 6 HRS)

Finally we descend to Zhang Mu on the China – Nepal border to leave from the Tibetan Plateau. Complete the necessary formalities at the border and drive back to Kathmandu.
